FORMATION CORE COMMUNITY

Mission Statement
The mission of the Formation Core Community of the Parish Community of St.
Charles Borromeo is to provide leadership, insight and guidance by the creation of a
parish vision that enables a life-long personal relationship with God through a family
process of faith sharing.  Through Christ’s teachings we, as a parish family, will foster
and nurture the spiritual, sacramental, educational, and emotional well being of all in
a loving, caring Christian Community.

Ministries within the Formation Core Community:

Parochial School  
Pre-K to 8th grade.

Religious Education (CCD)
Approximately 100 catechist volunteers to teach our public school children and  
prepare them for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.

Baptismal preparation
For families of newborn.

Evenings for the Engaged
Couples preparing for marriage.

Adult Education
Preparing educational programs for adults

Student Stewardship.  
In addition to assisting many of our parish adult ministries, student stewardship
accomplished the following in the past year:
+        Financial contributions to Holy Childhood Association
+        Financial contributions to Our Lady of Hope School in North Philadelphia.
+        Collection of Christmas Gifts for Sterling Nursing Home.
+        Service as teachers’ aides in Religious Education classes & special needs
children.
+        Various Service Projects – e.g., Adopt a Family, babysitting for families
attending various functions, carnival volunteers, Sunday bulletin
inserts,  altar servers.
